The 7 Highlights Of My 2014 (What's Yours?)

Happy New Year!
January has always been the time where we recall the things we experienced last year, reflect on them, and plan the new year around the lessons that we've learned.
It’s such a powerful exercise that I recommend, especially for women who are struggling to juggle their career and family life. It will help you set more realistic goals next year, increasing your productivity.
This activity can teach us to be more grateful. So much can happen in a year that it’s often easy to forget all of the great things in our life.
The Top 7 Highlights of my 2014
I finally had the time to do that exercise last week. I sat down, remembered the highlights of my 2014 journey and asked myself what I could have done have better results.
SO, what were your biggest wins from 2014? Here are some of mine:
1. I was published in a book!
This year I was featured in the book Empower: Women’s Stories of Accomplishment, Encouragement and Influence.
My good friend Beth Caldwell of Pittsburgh Professional Women is a champion for women in business everywhere. She has a wonderful website full of resources and advice for women.
She had the brilliant idea of inviting successful women in business to share a powerful story about their journey. She publishes this type of book each year, and invites authors to join her in this project.
Every woman can benefit from reading the book whether you’re in business or not. We all face challenges and it’s empowering to read how people succeed. You can order copies under the "Books" section, and I’d be happy to autograph one for you :)
2. I achieved the rank of Blue Diamond through powerful teamwork
doTERRA is such an incredible company! Did you know they currently have 93 Blue Diamond ranking Wellness Advocates?
Many direct marketing companies NEVER have that number even after 20 years of being in business. doTERRA wants you to succeed and has created the compensation plan and method of sharing and succeeding easy and achievable.
When you reach Blue Diamond, your team consists of having five personally enrolled GOLD legs. These Gold leaders each have three leaders who each have two leaders.
As you see, this is definitely a team effort and I’m so grateful to work with incredible people full of passion and purpose. These leaders are focused on their goal of sharing oils and leading their teams.
With everyone working together, nothing is impossible!
3. I get to stay in the beautiful home I manifested ☺
Being clear on what you want creates the power necessary to bring those things into your experience. The more you can release blocks around getting what you want the faster things can happen.
I’ll share more on this throughout the year, and I talk about it in the Empower book. In 2013 I found this amazing place to live and after renting it for a year, the house was purchased and my kids and I get to call this home!
About a month after moving in, I found a detailed description of a home I had written down on a vision board. I had to do a double take and pause for a moment to see if I had written it AFTER I found the house because it was EXACTLY what I had found! Clarity is crucial :)
4. I hosted four successful & memorable birthday parties for my kids 11,9,3,1!
Growing up birthdays were always a big deal for me. My mom was amazing and created the funnest parties which are wonderful memories of my growing up.
To carry on the tradition, I’ve always made a big deal about birthdays, and I choose a theme to work around. This year it was a Star Wars party for my son, an American Girl party for my daughter, a Cars party for my three year old, and a good old fashioned one year old party for the baby.
Celebrations make life beautiful & fun!
5. I tried CrossFit workouts
Have you heard of CrossFit? It’s a really powerful 30 minute workout that consists of “constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity”.
I wanted to try a new way of working out this year, and enjoyed trying Cross Fit. Initially my thoughts about the intensity of the work out scared me, but after giving it a try, it wasn’t bad at all!
I can do anything for 30 minutes. It was fun to feel strong and powerful and I believe wholeheartedly that you work at the level you workout.
6. I treated myself to a fun & completely spontaneous trip to see James Taylor in NYC.
One of the most beautiful things I’ve been able to experience through a larger paycheck is taking advantage of really cool experiences. I remember years ago when paying for food and gas was a struggle.
I’m so grateful that those days are gone, and I’m able to see and experience life in a different way. I feel like I’m really a participant instead of an observer.
I’ve always wanted to see James Taylor in concert, so when I heard he was touring, I checked online and saw his next concert was the following day in NYC! So I booked a ticket and off I went.
Take advantage of special things that allow you to experience real self love :)
7. I began working on my own website launching soon
I’m moving forward on a dream I’ve had for years and years! Yay for *almost* finishing a project. I’ll keep you updated on it’s progress :)
Now, as we enter 2015, my hope is that YOU can live a more EMPOWERED life. My goal through Empowered Family Living and go team Julie is to share what I’ve found is helpful and supportive to living in power, which means “in choice” about whatever comes our way.
And because the focus is YOU, “Go Team Julie” will be changing to The Empower Team. It’s all about your journey to the next level, and I’d like you to be part of a group that makes you feel EMPOWERED.
As I contemplated what the team name could be, and how I see doTERRA as a force for people in all areas of their life, here is what I decided on:

So...What’s Next?
A lot of things are coming this year. Most of them aren’t fully visible on the site, but my team and I are on our way of getting it done.
